It's been nearly a year since the comedy community lost Garry Shandling. The groundbreaking actor, writer and standup comedian passed away at 66 due to a massive heart attack. Now, he's being remembered with a new documentary.

Producer and director Judd Apatow has confirmed that he's working on a doc about the late comedian.

Apatow's a fitting choice to helm the project. In addition to his status as a first-rate comedy nerd, Apatow worked on Shandling's beloved series The Larry Sanders Show. He was also responsible for organizing Shandling's memorial last year.

Taking to Twitter, Apatow requested any videos or photos that anyone might be willing to contribute to the forthcoming film.

Stay tuned for more information on Judd Apatow's upcoming Garry Shandling film as it becomes available.
