'Dr. Katz' Returns with New Audio Series

If you happened to catch it on late-night Teletoon reruns in the late '90s, you may remember the fantastic cartoon Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist. The series, which was produced by Comedy Central, unknowingly helped launch the comedy podcast boom by following its titular therapist as he helped comedians with their problems. Now, the show is getting rebooted as a podcast of its own.

The rebooted audio edition of the show will see Jonathan Katz reprise his role. The 15-episode series will take place nearly 20 years later from where the original Dr. Katz left off. Of course, the doctor's son Ben (played by H. Jon Benjamin) still lives at home.

Comedians lending their voices to the new Dr. Katz episodes include Sarah Silverman, Ted Danson, Ray Romano, Margaret Cho, Weird Al, Maria Bamford, Pete Holmes, Dana Gould, Emo Philips, Ron Funches and Andy Kindler, among others.

Audible will launch Dr. Katz: The Audio Files on June 8. The show will be available for free to Audible and Amazon Prime subscribers.
