Never one to shy away from controversy, comedian Kathy Griffin shared footage from a photoshoot yesterday (May 30) that depicts a bloody, decapitated Donald Trump.

The U.S. president's supporters got pretty riled up about the whole thing, and now Trump himself has responded to the image. This morning (May 31), he took to Twitter (of course) to respond, saying that Griffin "should be ashamed of herself."

"My children, especially my 11 year old son, Barron, are having a hard time with this," he continued. "Sick!"
Yesterday, Griffin herself took to Twitter, defending the photo by stating: "OBVIOUSLY, I do not condone ANY violence by my fans or others to anyone, ever! I'm merely mocking the Mocker in Chief."

Griffin has since apologized for the gory stunt. In a video clip shared last night, she admits she took things too far and crossed a line.

"I moved the line, and then I crossed it," she says into the camera. "I went way too far. The image is too disturbing. I understand how it offends people."
