Conan O'Brien's 'Conan' Will Soon Switch to Weekly Format

Late night mainstay Conan O'Brien has had to deal with plenty of network retooling over the years, most famously having a falling out with The Tonight Show in 2010. Though he had settled in to his TBS hosting gig on Conan, it looks like executives are about to shake things up again.

TBS is now planning to turn Conan into a weekly show rather than a nightly one. The news was reportedly confirmed to The Wrap by Turner CEO John Martin.

Martin reportedly told The Wrap that the weekly late-night marketplace is simply too crowded. Further, thanks to the success of Conan's remote specials in Cuba, Berlin and South Korea, the network is interested in doing segments like that more often.

It's not clear when TBS plans to make the switch. As of right now, Conan airs new episodes from Monday to Thursday each week.
