Chris Gethard has unexpectedly released a new stand-up album called Taylor Ham, Egg, and Cheese: A Comedic Tribute to New Jersey.
As the title implies, it's primarily composed of material that takes jabs at Gethard's home state of New Jersey.
Naturally, it was recorded at the Asbury Park Brewery.
The album features mostly material that was debuted on the night of the recording — because Gethard didn't feel he could workshop the material outside of Jersey.
"I've made an album that, by definition, will only be fully enjoyed by people in New Jersey," Gethard said in a statement. "There are a handful of tracks that anyone anywhere will find funny, but a solid 50 percent of this album will be unfunny to people unfamiliar with Jersey, and may actually not make sense. There are certain jokes about specific landmarks or directions or behaviors that will sound like utter gibberish to people not from my home state."
