By Tyler MunroVic Victor sounds like a psychobilly singer should; his voice carries in a low register, its vibrato splitting the line between Vincent Price and Elvis Presley. But spooky stuff this isn't; Our Way & The Highway continues the Koffin Kats' fun-loving, outlaw-inspired psychobilly sound, choosing against reciting cheap and gloomy poetry in favour of inciting a good time. It's easy to imagine the crowd's reaction to the pacing and charisma of songs like "It Happens Every Night," which proves that the band are at their best when they opt in favour of tempering their swagger. The Koffin Kats fire on all cylinders when they do, succeeding on the strengths of their songwriting ability, but stutter when they try to push the tempo. Still, there isn't a bad song here, with even the sometimes schlocky "The Devil Asked" redeeming itself on the laurels of strong backing vocals and tense pacing.
