By Ralph ElawaniWhy in the unholy name of Behemoth was the sound system spitting out Everclear and the Offspring as androgynous child prodigy Jef Barbara and his group were setting up? Part Jobriath, part Rick James and part Jean Guilda, Barbara brings what is the sound of '60s French singers during the '80s, tweaked with assumed campy attitude and a premium quality band who know exactly how to give life to his gold-dusted chichi with a decanted amount of space disco. Contamination, Barbara's first slab of wax on Bertrand Burgalat's Tricatel label, is worth every penny for the song "Flight 777" alone.
