In the few years since he dropped highly acclaimed mixtape So Far Gone, he's been on a meteoric rise to the top of the pop, rap and R&B charts, all the while repping Canada and, more specifically, his hometown of Toronto. With the release of his second studio album, Take Care, Drake shows absolutely no signs of slowing down, strengthening his grip on the current state of pop music while simultaneously sewing up the lane he created and popularized with his trademark sing-song flow, which appeals to you, your girl and the thug in the corner of the club. With cohort Noah "40" Shebib providing much of the atmospheric, futuristic haze for Drake to coast over, new bodies behind the boards, such as Just Blaze, who provides the anthemic soul on "Lord Knows," featuring Rick Ross, and electronic producer Jamie XX, on the dance-y "Take Care," featuring Rihanna, add an exciting sonic boost to the record, which promises to be a monster on the charts and iTunes. Take Care also finds Drake teaming with a who's who of additional guests, from Lil Wayne, fellow Torontonian the Weeknd and Andre 3000 to the legendary Stevie Wonder, on the woozy "Doing It Wrong." The sky's the limit for this hometown boy, so either get with it or get the hell out of his way.
