By Lorraine CarpenterInstruments aside, every band has its essential tools, the ornaments, good-luck charms, special attire and other accoutrements that make the musicians feel at home, and hopefully provide the crowd with a little eye candy. Florida duo Yip-Yip are no exception: checkered bodysuits, lovingly decorated synthesiser cases and, of course, goggles made up much of the spectacle, while the soundtrack consisted of vintage synths, digi-saxes and percussion. Apart from some time-signature tomfoolery (arch enough to land them on a bill with Chinese Stars), their set came with enough plonk and pop to match their sweet Devo-lution style.
