By Alex HudsonSXSW is always a busy time for music lovers, and fans who make it out to Austin this year will want to be sure to check out the Scène 1425 day party at Spill Bar on March 17, which features a stellar lineup including Yukon Blonde, Said the Whale and Parlovr.
This Exclaim!-sponsored early show runs from noon to 3 p.m., and starts with Montreal songstress Fanny Bloom. From there, new acts will take the stage each half hour, with Montreal trio Half Moon Run and Portland avant duo Talkdemonic rounding out the first half of the event.
After that, some bigger Canuck acts take the stage, including Montreal indie rockers Parlovr, Vancouver rock revivalists Yukon Blonde and West Coast popsmiths Said the Whale. Those two headliners both have new albums coming out in March (Yukon Blonde with Tiger Talk and Said the Whale with Little Mountain), so the show is sure to offer an exciting taste of recent material.
Spill Bar is located at 212 East 6th St. in Austin, so be sure to fit it into your SXSW schedule.
