By Alex HudsonWhile singer Roger Daltrey embarked on a solo tour last year, guitarist Pete Townshend promised at the time that the Who would reconvene to tour in 2012. Sure enough, the classic rock band have announced plans for a massive North American outing that will last from November all the way into 2013.
The tour will find them performing their 1973 LP Quadrophenia in its entirety, which is appropriate considering that the album recently received a box set reissue. The trek includes Canadian stops in Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto.
Tickets go on sale to the public next Friday (July 27), with some pre-sales occurring the week before. Get more information at the Who's official website.
Prior to the tour, a documentary about Quadrophenia will be coming to Canadian theatres for one night on August 1. It's titled The Who: Quadrophenia -- Can You See The Real Me?, and you can get information about Canadian screenings over at Cineplex. U.S. screenings will take place on July 24.
The flick apparently "give[s] fans an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look into one of rock's most influential bands." See a trailer at the bottom of the page.
