By Alex HudsonLate November isn't exactly the ideal time to release a summery beach record, but Teen Daze is doing just that. This week, the Abbotsford, BC-based chillwaver released Beach Dreams, a hazy four-song ode to the sand and waves.
The EP is available as a pay-what-you-want download over at Bandcamp. Unlike Teen Daze's synth-y previous works, Beach Dreams relies heavily on guitars, evoking artists like Real Estate, Best Coast and Beach Fossils with its reverb-y jangle. A message accompanying the album reads, "I really came to fall in love with the whole lo-fi pop scene this summer, and I wanted to see what I could come up with."
It continues, "I know that it's starting to get cold, and that carefree love songs about beach life may seem out of context, but I hope that you guys can look back on your past summer, and let these songs remind you of some of the good experiences you had!"
Teen Daze will be spending early December on the road with MillionYoung. The two acts will be touring up the West coast of North America, wrapping up with one Canadian date on December 12 in Vancouver. Scroll past the tracklist to see the dates.
