Talk Talk Toasted by Members of Arcade Fire, Broken Social Scene, Weezer Through Book and Tribute Album
By Gregory AdamsTalk Talk are currently celebrating their 30th anniversary, and a number of high-profile fans are getting in on the action by honouring the British art rock band via a new book and an upcoming covers album.

First up is Spirit of Talk Talk, an art book put together by illustrator James Marsh that collects all the related Talk Talk artwork he's crafted over the years. The limited-edition item will also include hand-written lyric sheets from the group, not to mention 80 written pieces by some notables that were affected by the band's music.

Some of the contributors include Arcade Fire's Richard Reed Parry, late Pink Floyd member Richard Wright, Weezer's Patrick Wilson, Jonathan Meiburg of Shearwater, Wild Beasts' Tom Fleming, Orbital's Paul Hartnoll, Karl Hyde of Underworld, former Depeche Mode member Alan Wilder, Elbow's Guy Garvey, James Lavelle of UNKLE, and former Grandaddy frontman Jason Lytle.

A release date has yet to be unveiled, but the book is expected to hit retailers sometime this spring. If you're thinking of picking up the tome, you can register your interest here (it doesn't lock you into buying a copy).

A tribute album also called Spirit of Talk Talk will arrive on May 28 through UK imprint Fierce Panda, and it will feature some of the same contributors as the book.

Richard Reed Parry delivers a version of "I Believe in You," Broken Social Scene's Kevin Drew and Weezer's Patrick Wilson team up with Do Make Say Think for a take on "New Grass," while Alan Wilder gets together with My Brightest Diamond's Shara Worden to do "Dum Dum Girl."

A full tracklisting is still forthcoming, but other artists set to appear include Jason Lytle, White Lies, Joan As Police Woman, S. Carey, Lia Ices and the Clientele.

Proceeds will go to wildlife conservation organization BirdLife International.
