By Alex HudsonSince releasing celebrated debut Hometowns in 2008, prairie-rose-loving indie rockers the Rural Alberta Advantage have been promoting it with a string of tours. The Toronto, ON band's hard work previously paid off in the form of record deals with Paper Bag Records and Saddle Creek. And now, with a new album on the horizon, the band are getting set to head out on the road once more for a world tour.
Rural Alberta Advantage are currently wrapping up a string of shows in Western Canada. Later this month, the group will kick off the next outing by heading across the Atlantic for a number of dates in Europe. In mid-December, they will return home for four Canadian dates in Hamilton, Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa.
According to a press release, these will be the final shows before the group roll out their sophomore LP. You can also expect new songs to crop up in the live sets. In January, they will preview their new album at a performance in NYC.
The details of the new record are still unknown, but it was recorded with producer Roger Leavens at Toronto's Boombox Sound.
