Reviews of AlunaGeorge, Robin Thicke, Ikonika and More in This Week's New Release Roundup
By Matthew RitchieWhether it's CDs, vinyl, MP3s or cassettes you dig, there's a great album waiting for you at your favourite music store. To help you make the best of your weekly musical allowance, we've taken a hard look at some of the week's new releases below. For more, keep a tab on Exclaim!'s Recently Reviewed section as more new albums be come available.

Kicking things off is Body Music, the highly anticipated debut from London R&B duo AlunaGeorge. The futuristic pop two-piece caught lightning in a bottle with their radio-friendly You Know You Like It EP back in 2012; is their full-length as dynamic and progressive as fans have been hoping and waiting for? Read on to find out.

Next, under-the-radar soul singer Robin Thicke finally gets his chance in the spotlight with the infectiously pop-influenced Blurred Lines, which finds the one-time reality show judge creating his most fun and mainstream-friendly project to date.

Post-dubstep producer Ikonika's sophomore LP, Aerotropolis, is a more refined effort than her 2010 debut, but a lack of hooks and unique songwriting ultimately holds it back. Elsewhere, country impresarios Vince Gill & Paul Franklin pay tribute to California's most infamous roots-rock mecca with the metropolitan concept album Bakersfield.

Finally, 12-bar blues veteran Buddy Guy follows up 2010's Grammy Award-winning Living Proof LP with the raw double-disc Rhythm & Blues. This time around, the polka-dotted guitarist has been joined by the likes of Kid Rock, Keith Urban and Gary Clark Jr. to round out his robust arrangements. But does the Chicago blues mainstay continue to provide enough soul to keep longtime fans listening 50 plus years into his career? Click through and see.
