By Gregory AdamsDetails have been developing rather slowly on the latest Primal Scream LP, but the British rockers have finally given us a due date for the set, which is now called More Light. According to singer Bobby Gillespie, it'll hit stores May 6 in the UK, and presumably a day later on our side of the Atlantic.
Speaking on Lauren Laverne's BBC Radio 6 Music show [via NME], Gillespie also revealed that the impending set, Primal Scream's first since 2008's Beautiful Future, was produced by David Holmes, and includes guest features from the likes of Pop Group's Mark Stewart and former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant.
Neither tracklisting info nor sound samples have arrived just yet, but Gillespie had previously said that More Light is a "modern rock'n'roll" record which is "really sophisticated in terms of the production."
He continued: "Pretty psychedelic rock, it's kind of guitar-driven but we use guitars in an orchestral way, not in the normal way people make rock records. I think we do it in a more interesting way. We weave the guitars in with electronics and other acoustic instruments to make the core sound."
