Polaris Music Prize Prints Exclusive Posters Commemorating Arcade Fire, Destroyer, the Weeknd
By Alex HudsonExcitement is growing for the 2011 instalment of the Polaris Music Prize. The annual Canadian music award announced its shortlist in July, and will crown a winner on September 19 at CTV's Concert Hall studios in Toronto's Masonic Temple. The ten shortlist contenders have now been commemorated with snazzy posters, available from the Polaris store.

For $15 a pop, you can buy exclusive posters devoted to nominated albums by Arcade Fire, Destroyer, the Weeknd and more. Each silk-screened reproduction is 12" x 14" in size. They will ship on September 26 -- so by then you will know if your favourite artist won the prize or not.

Check them out and place your pre-orders over here.

Many of the acts shortlisted for the award will be on hand to perform at the ceremony and accept their prize in that event that they win. However, as previously announced, Arcade Fire will not be performing and we've learned that neither will Vancouver's Destroyer, none of whose members will reportedly be in attendance at the ceremony.

I hope Kaputt wins. It's damn near perfect.

We've just learned some members of Destroyer will be there. They just won't be performing.
