By Alex HudsonA couple of weeks back, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark announced plans to tour this spring with their classic lineup of Andy McCluskey, Paul Humphreys, Malcolm Holmes and Martin Cooper. Now, the British synth-pop heroes have confirmed the details of this 35th anniversary trek, which is in support of their new album, English Electric.
The North American tour is split into two separate legs. In April, OMD will travel around the western part of the continent, with a scattering of U.S. shows plus a tour-opening performance in Vancouver on April 5. Then, in July, the band will return to this side of the Atlantic for some dates in the continent's eastern half, including a Canadian appearance in Toronto on July 11.
In between these trips, the Brits will play a number of shows in their homeland and in continental Europe. See the full schedule below, and participate in a ticket pre-sale right here.
As mentioned, these dates will be in support of English Electric, due out April 9. It's described as a "letter to technology, space, love and a grand return to form for a band." Read more about it here, and scroll past the tour dates to watch a brief album teaser featuring the track "Decimal." The album cover is above.
