By Alex HudsonIn 2012, ever-busy guitarist Omar Rodríguez-López reunited with At the Drive-In and released an album with the Mars Volta, in addition to dropping a full-length under his own name. Now, he's got yet another project on his plate as he's preparing to hit the road with Bosnian Rainbows.
This band originally toured simply as the Omar Rodríguez-López Group, but it has since switched to its new, more democratic name. Bosnian Rainbows' upcoming North American tour will last for two weeks in February, when they will play a number of U.S. shows, plus Canadian gigs in Montreal and Toronto. See the schedule below.
Bosnian Rainbows recorded a live session for Cloud Hill, and this month appeared on the label's Live at Cloud Hill box set. This package includes seven 10-inch records (one of which is devoted to Bosnian Rainbows), plus a DVD. Two minutes of the performance is streaming at the bottom of this page. The set also features a collaboration between Rodríguez-López and Faust. Order it here.
Bosnian Rainbows reportedly recorded their yet-to-be-announced debut album back in the fall.
