We already knew that Metric would be teaming up with Canadian Oscar-winning composer Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) to score the new David Cronenberg flick, Cosmopolis. Now we've got some more details about that forthcoming soundtrack, which is even more star-studded that we originally thought.
News May 15 2012
In addition to three brand new Metric songs -- "Long to Live," "I Don't Want to Wake Up" and "Call Me Home," which were recorded last November -- the album will feature a contribution from Somali-Canadian hip-hop star K'naan. His song "Mecca" contains lyrics written with author Don DeLillo, who penned the 2003 novel that the film is based on.
There's no word as to exactly what these artists' contributions sound like, but you can check out a trailer for the film below, which features some apocalyptic electro-rock accompaniment.
CBC Music notes that the soundtrack will be out June 5, while the film premieres on May 25 at Cannes. The movie stars Robert Pattinson as a billionaire on an odyssey as he travels across Manhattan to get a haircut.
