By Alex HudsonIt's been the better part of a year since You Say Party went on hiatus, and now, BC-based bassist Stephen O'Shea has teamed up with some fellow Fraser Valley residents from Oh No! Yoko and GSTS! to form Real Boys. The newly minted band have a single available now with an EP and tour dates on the way.
The single is a buoyant pop rock tune called "Vacation," and there are four different versions of the track available from Bandcamp: a studio recording, a raw demo take, a stripped-down acoustic version and a chopped-up electro remix.
The single, which you can listen to below, will pave the way for the band's self-titled debut EP, due out March 27. A press release draws comparisons to Death Cab for Cutie, Young the Giant and Long Long Long, and promises, "These summery tunes will have you dancing till winter."
In the coming months, Real Boys will be spreading the word throughout Western Canada with a short tour. During March and April, the band have a selection of shows that will take them as far west as Vancouver and as far east as Winnipeg. See the schedule below, and scroll past the tour itinerary to hear "Vacation."
