By Alex HudsonMatt & Kim recently confirmed that their next LP will be called Lightning and that it will arrive in the fall. Sure enough, the ultra-cute piano-punk couple have just announced the details of their upcoming fourth full-length, which will be out on October 2 through FADER Label.
The self-produced album was recorded in the band's apartment in New York, NY. This marks something of a change after 2010's Ben Allen-produced Sidewalks.
According to a press release, this is the band's "most diverse, realized, yet raw release to date." It's said to include everything from summer-y dance songs to more "contemplative" material, with frontman Matt Johnson handing over lead vocals to drummer Kim Schifino for the closing track, "10 Dollars I Found."
