By Eric HillJerry Fuchs, who's served as the drummer for !!!, the Juan MacLean and Maserati, died early Sunday morning (November 8) from injuries sustained in a five-storey fall inside a broken elevator shaft. He was 34.

As reported by ABC news [via Gothamist], Fuchs had tried to jump out of the broken elevator in Brooklyn late Saturday night when something caught his clothing, resulting in the fatal fall. Investigators do not suspect any foul play.

Their most recent release, Passages, is a collection of out-of-print remixes and vinyl tracks that was meant to precede a new album due in 2010.
