Lamb of God's Randy Blythe Arrested in Prague for Manslaughter
By Josiah HughesToday (June 28), some shocking news has broke concerning Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe, who has reportedly been arrested in Prague on manslaughter charges.

Reports are hazy at this point, but Metal Sucks points to a Czech news report from, who explain that Blythe was arrested over an incident that took place at a Lamb of God show in Prague on May 24, 2010.

In the alleged 2010 incident, a fan reportedly climbed up on stage and ended up getting in a physical altercation with Blythe. Later, the concertgoer in question succumbed to his or her injuries, according to the news report.

The recent Exclaim! cover stars were to headline a show tonight in Prague at the Rock Cafe with Skeletonwitch and All Shall Perish. However, Lamb of God have pulled out of the concert.

Metal Insider got in touch with Adrenaline PR, the company that manages Lamb of God, and were told that Blythe was "wrongfully accused," adding that "lawyers are dealing with it, and we expect him to be fully exonerated."

Stay tuned for more updates on the situation as they become available.

UPDATE: The Gauntlet point to a review on Czech blog Sicmaggot, who reviewed the show where the 2010 altercation occurred. A review reads: "At first Randy hit him a lot, then Randy jumped on him to hold him down while he continued singing. When the fan got up, Randy took him by the hair and threw down quite quickly. It was a good thing the fan was so dazed that he probably felt nothing. It took him a little while to realize what happened and as he struggled to get his breathe back."

UPDATE 2: Adrenaline PR has now released the updated statement about the incident:

Lamb of God management will be issuing an official statement on Monday regarding the charges made against singer Randy Blythe. As no formal charges have yet been made and the case is only in the investigation stages, it would be premature to make an official statement filled with false truths or innuendos.

Having said that, management wished to address today one false piece of information that has been included in many of the news stories released so far. Under no circumstances was there a fight of any kind involved. This incident deals with a fan that three times during the concert jumped the barricade and rushed Randy during the performance. It is alleged that the third time, security was not able to reach him and that Randy pushed him back into the audience where supposedly he fell and hit his head.

Again, until the investigation is concluded this weekend, nothing more will be released, but clarity and the facts needed to be addressed on this one reported point which is totally inaccurate.

UPDATE 3: Czech police spokeswoman Jana Rosslerova has told the Associated Press that a court is to determine on Saturday (June 30) whether to continue detaining Blythe.

UPDATE 4: As of Saturday (June 30), Blythe is to be released on bail.

WHAT THE HELL!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!

Fuck you! Czechoslovakia doesn't exist anymore! It's about 20 years, since the country split into two states, Czech Republic and Slovakia. Don't post bullshit on the internet, if you don't know basic facts, that people in our country learn in elementary school!

At least these guys wrote Czech or quickly corrected any error unlike their sources. But I thought this article was about Lamb of God, not a misused adjective. My bad, my bad.

Poor Blythe! This is crazy.

"There is no Czechoslovakia anymore."

This article says nothing about "Czechoslovakia." This took place in Prague, the capital of what has been the Czech Republic for over 20 years.

rough translation of the current article at Novinky-cz.

Metal star charged of manslaughter behaved rough in Prague, fans admit.

Spokesman of american metal band Lamb of god has confirmed, that. its singer Randy Blythe was arrested in Prague for causing an injury resulting to death. At the same time said the frontman was innocent. The fan has been injured during a 2010 concert after he climbed up to the stage. Witnesses say the singer attacked him brutally. The poilce proposed to take Blythe into custody.

„Randy was wrongfully accused. Our lawyers are working on the case, and we expect him to be fully purged" Maria Ferrero said.

The singer's brother Marky Blythe said to CBS-6 he was waiting for more information at the moment. „The charges are unbelievable and false, and they're to be dropped immediately.“ he said

The band hasn't cancelled any of the following gigs on its website yet. The organizers of With Full Force festival haven't said the band won't perform either, and they are still listed it as one of the headliners.

The Czech police doesn't provide any information to the case yet.

For causing an injury leading to death, Blythe could be sentenced to 5 to 10 years in a prison, according to section 4 of paragraph 146, of the penal code. Police has proposed to take the singer into custody.

An unfortunate incident? Blythe was rough, fans admit.

Tomas Fiala from Obscure promotion, who organizes the event said to Novinky, that it was no fight. “It was just an unfortunate incident, which happened during a concert, where someone who had no business there went on the stage". He didn't want to comment the matter any further, but he's preparing an announcement.

According to wtvr-com, the fan was hit by a microphone stand, before he was taken away from stage by security. He succumbed to his wounds later in hospital, some sources say that due to internal bleeding in the brain.

Reviews of the concert describe Blythe's behavior to fans who climbed on stage as rough. One of the comments at topzine-cz says “Another astounding thing was Randalla Blythea behavior, who threw fans down from the stage several times.“.

Sicmaggot describes it in more detail at his blog: „He did mind (Blythe) a lot, when someone wanted to visit the stage. The first one, for example, got quite a beating, he jumped on him and held him on the ground, while still singing. When he was getting up, he choked him a little goodbye. Then, when he.
managed to get up, Randy grabbed his hair and threw him down violently. The other one ended up considerably worse, it took him quite longer to catch his breath again.“.

Things got tougher after the murder of Pantera's guitarist.

We need to realize, that in Abaton (the clubwhere the incident occurred) there are no barriers under the stage.American media remind us that the feelings towards fans, who climb on the stage, got tougher after Pantera's guitarist Dimebag Darrell was shot.

It matters whether they get the name of the country right b/c if you aren't checking the info in your story carefully to verify something like the correct the name of the country, it's pretty likely a lot of what you are saying may be equally sloppy. That so many news organizations are repeating this error is frustrating b/c those same news organizations are printing stories about what happened on stage as factual when it is merely an accusation (and some of the stuff being reported is growing more outlandish by the minute). This would be less frustrating and scary if the Czech sources didn't seem to be using lyrics to indicate Randy is guilty of this; he may be a lead singer in a metal band but he is by all accounts an extremely nice guy who would never intentionally harm anyone much less violently throw some kid off a stage or beat him w/a microphone stand but who could potentially spend 10 years in jail b/c people would prefer to tell a sloppy but sensational story than find out what the truth of that story actually is.

Holy fuck ^^^^^. If there was an error, Exclaim quickly fixed it early on. Where are they fucking up now? Quit obsessing you freaks and talk about something that actually matters, like Randy getting out. Way to get totally off topic and lose the entire focus here. I know I've just added to this, but I seriously hope this is the last comment concerning an incorrect identifier.

This Sunday, JULY 8th- there is going to be a gathering in support of #FreeRandyBlythe

As a fan of nearly 9 years, I believe all of our prayers go out to the son who has passed and most of all the family, in this time of grieving. An understanding of the injuries as a result of individual recklessness is something I, and SOO MANY countless others, HAVE. For myself, through personal experience. The event IS tragic.
My 1st hope is to show support to Randy as he and others with the same chosen Profession have on numerous occasions for myself and other Friends. Randy's return and a drop to this seemingly unnecessary process, is the twinkle in many Fans eyes, ALL OVER THE GLOBE! My 2nd hope is that the family of the son & justice system of the Czech Republic can find no fault, soo grave a charge, with the actions of an entertainer whose professionalism is so applauded ALL OVER THE WORLD! Lastly, my 3rd hope is that individual responsibility can be the only reason for the sincerely tragic event.

Thank you for taking a look here, and the lengths taken to report ACCURATE information.

Live & Let Love
