By Alex HudsonIf those documentaries and biopic rumblings have taught us anything, it's that Joe Strummer has not been forgotten in the decade since his death. Now, the legendary Clash snarler is being honoured with a retrospective compilation album and a handful of reissues.
The collection is called Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros, The Hellcat Years, and it is out digitally today (August 21) through Hellcat Records. If Strummer were alive today, this would have been his 50th 60th birthday.
A press releases calls the comp "a comprehensive collection of recorded music, hard-to-find B-sides and never-before-heard impassioned live performances." It features the all three of the albums that Strummer recorded with the Mescaleros -- Rock Art and the X-Ray Style (1999), Global a Go-Go (2001) and Streetcore (2003) -- in their entirety, plus a host of rarities. It also includes a 2002 performance of a few Clash tunes with Mick Jones.
All told, there are 57 tracks, and you can see the tracklist below.
Following this digital release, Rock Art and the X-Ray Style, Global a Go-Go and Streetcore will all be reissued on September 25.

Is there a way to get just all the extra tracks? I already own the three previously released albums. I want the new stuff but without shelling out for everything all over again.
