By Alex HudsonEast Coast indie heroes Hey Rosetta! are currently in the midst of a summer tour of Canada, which includes dates with mega-stars like the Tragically Hip, Broken Social Scene and City and Colour. Once the autumn rolls around, the group will be staying busy with yet another string of shows.
This fall outing will last for most of November and take the group across North America once again. In addition to a few U.S. dates, the band will be making several stops in Canada. There are a total of seven new Canuck shows.
Along the way, Hey Rosetta! will be promoting their latest LP, Seeds. The album is currently a shortlist nominee for the Polaris Music Prize. Fans in Toronto can hear the band talk about the album at an upcoming Polaris Record Salon, which will take place August 9 at the Drake.
In other Hey Rosetta! news, the group have released a five-song EP called XM the Verge Session. As the title suggests, it was recorded live for satellite radio station the Verge. It's available as a free download, but if you chose to make a donation, all proceeds will go to USC Canada, an organization that supports farming communities in impoverished nations.
