Greg MacPherson Announces 'Fireball' LP, Maps Out Canadian Tour Dates
By Gregory AdamsA couple of years on from singing us the Disintegration Blues, Winnipeg folkie Greg MacPherson has confirmed he'll be sending his Fireball our way later this fall. The LP, his sixth overall, drops October 29 via his Disintegration Records imprint.

A press release notes that this time around, MacPherson "explores the dangerous, heartbreaking, and romantic stories of people you can relate to." The apparently stripped-down set was recorded with Cam Loeppky, who co-runs Disintegration with MacPherson, and features straight-to-the-point tracks like roots-rock opener "1995," which you can stream down below.

MacPherson has scheduled two Canadian tour legs to support the album, with the first running from Ontario out towards the Maritimes this October and the next hitting Western Canada in November. You'll find all the tour details, as well as Fireball's tracklisting, down below.

REVIEW: Greg MacPherson October 10, 2013 @ the ebar, Guelph, ON.

There is always a sense of anticipation when waiting for a new Greg Macpherson album. Not because of the time it takes but because you can't wait to feel the sense of disbelief at how much better Greg can get album after album. His first cd's clearly put him among the ranks of the best of singer/songwriters but Fireball pushes him beyond this plateau.

Greg delivered the new material with the same energy and passion we have come to expect of this criminally ignored and under appreciated artist. And this delivery coupled with his new songs and the support provided by 'smiling' Rob on drums provided the folks at the ebar with an evening they won't soon forget. The kicker here is this was the first show of his Canadian tour. So readers, do yourself a favour catch Greg somewhere soon and catch the wave.

And lastly....dear, Greg is not a folky....he is a pure fireball of the mutated DNA of Joe Strummer, Billy Bragg and Mr. and Mrs. MacPherson of Winnipeg, MB.
