Godspeed You! Black Emperor Announce North American Tour, Unveil Vancouver Show
By Gregory AdamsAfter a 10-year drought, experimental rock favourites Godspeed You! Black Emperor returned to our turntables last fall with their Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend! Now the collective have announced they'll support the set with at least one Canadian show in 2013, as the act will return to Vancouver's Vogue Theatre on September 4.

Godspeed toured Asia and Australia earlier this year, and have a handful of European festival dates to get through this summer, but at present this is the only show that's been announced on home soil.

Exclaim! has reached out to Constellation Records concerning the possibility of more North American performances, but as of press time, the label was not immediately available for comment. More info when we have it.

UPDATE: As Constellation confirms, Godspeed have now officially rolled out a string of new North American dates. There are no more no shows slated for Canada in this batch, but there are several in the U.S. See the updated schedule below.

The moody, multi-member outfit last graced the Vogue in 2011. Tickets for the upcoming Vancouver show go on sale this Friday (April 26).

Lots of Canadian bands don't have fun touring in Canada. It's super expensive for bands to tour here - just gas, liquor and hotels cost way over the US - and then fans bitch about the ticket prices.
