By Josiah HughesAfter a whirlwind batch of releases and a truly ceaseless tour schedule, Edmonton electro-pop freaks Gobble Gobble have announced plans to change their name to Born Gold.
In a statement, mastermind Cecil Frena explained that the name change has been a long time coming. "We have been slowly coaxing this caterpillar into a butterfly with our fists," he said. "Check it out, girl -- a new face to fit both our past to date and the futuresex we are slowly growing into. Stand before a mirror, hold your palm over your right eye, and repeat Born Gold six times."
Performing as Born Gold from here on out, the group will unleash another batch of forward-thinking electro jams on an upcoming LP called Bodysongs. The record and will be limited to 300 copies on white vinyl. The album's art, depicted above, was painted by Purity Ring's Megan James.
Bodysongs will be available on September 20 via Hovercraft/Crash Symbols. The full tracklisting, along with a stream of album track "Alabaster Bodyworlds," is available below. You can pre-oder the album on Insound here.
