Deleted Scenes Announce 'Lithium Burn' for Nevado, Premiere New Video
By Alex HudsonWashington, DC's Deleted Scenes signed with Nevado Records back in the fall and released a 7-inch, promising that a full-length would follow in 2014. Sure enough, they've now announced plans to issue Lithium Burn on April 15.

This latest batch of material dates back to 2012. That year, the band almost broke up, but they ended up renting a house in Nashville and reinventing themselves. The subsequent album was produced by Brian McTear and Jonathan Low, who have worked with artists like Sharon Van Etten, Kurt Vile and Local Natives.

The LP takes its name of Lithium Burn from the metallic acid reflux that frontman Daniel Scheuerman experienced when taking mood-stabilizing lithium. The songs apparently explore sadness and personal distance, with detail-specific lyrics prompting worldly observations.

"We wanted to take an emotional risk with this album, and sound fully like ourselves — with no disconnect between what we sound like live and what our album sounds like," Scheuerman said in a statement.

Below, watch the premiere of the video for "Stutter," an angular avant-rock cut that appeared on the aforementioned 7-inch. The nightmarishly surreal accompanying video stars Dustin Diamond, a.k.a. Screech from Saved by the Bell. It was directed by Alec Sutherland and tells the story of a struggling actor experiencing one hell of a bad day.
