By Gregory AdamsSound collagists the Avalanches have yet to properly announce their long-in-the-works follow-up to 2001's Since I Left You, but news has come that the Australian outfit have roped in yet another guest star for the project, much-buzzed about rapper Danny Brown.
The helium-voiced MC recently revealed that he will pop up on the as-yet-untitled platter for a track called "Frank Sinatra." While the Avalanches have cultivated a cult following over the years, the band were relatively unknown to Brown prior to being attached to the project.
"They [the Avalanches] contacted my manager," Brown explained to Pitchfork. "I knew of them, but I can't say I was that deep into their music. But I went back and studied it, and it's just amazing. I am ecstatic about that shit."
"Frank Sinatra" reportedly features Brown spitting throughout the whole track atop a bunch of looped and layered samples, as per the Avalanches' M.O. The collaboration was done over email.
