By Alex HudsonVancouver's Current Swell have been slowly but surely making a name for themselves in BC, releasing three previous albums, performing at music festivals and participating in the lucrative PEAK Performance Project. Now, the roots-tinged pop rockers are looking to keep the momentum going with album No. 4, Long Time Ago, due out October 25.
According to a press release "This is not a band looking to adapt to a radio format or searching for the catchiest hook, this is about respecting the process and giving the songs and music what they need."
Plenty of perfectionism and re-recording apparently went into these ten songs. See the tracklist below and the album cover above.
To promote the disc, Current Swell will hit the road in October and November for a North American tour. In addition to two U.S. shows, they currently have a long string of Canadian dates booked with Maritime gigs to announced soon. Scroll past the tracklist to check out the schedule.
