By Gregory AdamsMassachusetts metal-hardcore heroes Converge are currently holed up in guitarist Kurt Ballou's GodCity studio laying down their next album, but unless a leak of the recordings surfaces in the next couple of months, North America's eastern half will get to hear the new tunes first during troupe's upcoming spring tour.
A blast of April concert dates will have Converge exploring the Eastern Seaboard with '90s emo-tinged outfit Loma Prieta and Git Some. As for the Canadian dates, which take place in Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto, the act will be joined by punked-up Canuck rockers Burning Love. You can check out the complete schedule below.
According to Facebook messages from Converge, they've already wrapped up all the drum tracks for the new as-yet-untitled record, and they've posted a picture of Ballou's newly acquired nin-string guitar, which will indeed be featured on the record.
The estimated arrival date for the new LP is September, and it will be issued via Epitaph/Deathwish Inc. Converge's last full-length was 2009's Exclaim!-approved Axe to Fall.
