Coheed and Cambria Confirm 'The Afterman: Descension' Release Date, Announce North American Winter Tour
By Gregory AdamsLong-running prog crew Coheed and Cambria kicked off the first half of their The Afterman saga last month by issuing the first volume Ascension, and the band have now confirmed that part two, fittingly titled Descension, will arrive February 5 through Hundred Handed/Everything Evil.

The LP was officially announced this morning (November 5) in a trailer promoting both the album and an impending North American tour with Between the Buried and Me and Chicago instru-metal trio Russian Circles.

Here's what the band had to say about the new album: "In the story arc of The Afterman: Descension, we continue the conceptual storyline from volume one, where Sirius Amory, i.e., 'The Afterman,' is a scientist/cosmonaut who goes on celestial mission and makes what is arguably the most important discovery ever known to mankind. But upon his return, he discovers his ambitiousness may have brought him fleeting fame, but also tragic repercussions."

While most of the dates will take the acts around the U.S., there is one stop scheduled for Canada, at Vancouver's Vogue Theatre February 18. You can see the detailed itinerary down below. Tickets for all dates go on sale this Friday (November 9) .
