Clint Mansell Prepping Film Scores for Irvine Welsh's 'Filth' and Darren Aronofsky's 'Noah'
By Alex HudsonSince Clint Mansell left English rock outfit Pop Will Eat Itself back in the mid'-90s, the musician has largely focused on film scores, having composed a slew of them in the past 15 years. In 2013, he will continue this trend with some upcoming soundtracks.

Film Music Reporter [via The Playlist] reports that Mansell is recording a score for Filth, a comedic thriller that's written and directed by Jon S. Baird (Cass, Green Street Hooligans) and stars James McAvoy, Jamie Bell and Jim Broadbent.

Based on Irvine Welsh's 1998 novel of the same name, Filth is about a crooked cop seeking a job promotion and attempt to win back his wife and daughter. The film doesn't yet have a release date, but it's expected out later this year.

This isn't the only score Mansell has on his plate. He also wrote the music for the upcoming Nicole Kidman horror flick Stoker (due out this March), and The Playlist recently confirmed that Mansell is scoring Darren Aronofsky's Noah, a biblical epic starring Russell Crowe, Anthony Hopkins, Jennifer Connelly and Emma Watson.

Mansell's past credits include The Wrestler, Black Swan, Requiem for a Dream and The Fountain, among other films.
