Chairlift Announce Sophomore Album
By Alex HudsonAfter achieving their indie breakthrough with their Kanine Records-released debut album Does You Inspire You, New York synth lovers Chairlift signed to Columbia Records back in 2009. Now they have finished their first new LP since inking that deal.

Entitled Something, the sophomore disc will come out on January 24 via Columbia. It features Chairlift's recent two-piece lineup, as Aaron Pfenning quit the band in 2010 to focus on his solo project Rewards.

The new album was recorded over an 18-month period in New York and London, UK, with co-producer Dan Carey (Hot Chip, Franz Ferdinand). Carey also mixed most of the record, while two songs were mixed by studio genius Alan Moulder (My Bloody Valentine, Depeche Mode).

Get a taste of the new record in the form of the dreamy, dancefloor-ready single "Amanaemonesia." Watch the Kate Bush-esque interpretative dance video below. Hold tight for more album details, and hopefully some news about Canadian shows.
