By Alex HudsonBack in May, beloved Calgary, AB songwriter Chad VanGaalen released his fourth official LP, Diaper Island, via Flemish Eye/Sub Pop. Now, the musical mad scientist is getting ready to take the album on tour across Canada this fall.
Following an appearance at Sackville, NB's SappyFest later this month, VanGaalen will head to Europe in August. In October, it's back to Canada for a tour that begins in Vancouver on October 15. This fall tour will last a little longer than a month and will take him to 11 cities from coast to coast, hitting up Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton and Calgary. See the full schedule below.
In other VanGaalen news, his 2004 debut Infiniheart just got reissued by Flemish Eye on double pink vinyl. It's limited to 1,000 copies, and you can buy a copy here.
