Black Tambourine Set Sights on Ramones Covers EP, Get Dum Dum Girls' Dee Dee and Rose Melberg to Guest
By Josiah HughesEarlier this year, we shared the exciting news that Black Tambourine plan to reconvene for the 20th anniversary celebration of '90s zine Chickfactor. With shows planned in New York and Washington, DC, the legendary indie pop outfit have announced a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for their reunion, along with the release of a brand new Ramones cover EP.

In addition to seeking airfare to fly band members back to DC from California and London, the group are looking for funds to release a covers EP called OneTwoThreeFour on Slumberland Records. Besides recording a few new tracks for the 2010 comp Black Tambourine, these would mark the first time the group have got together to record a new release in years. The proposed EP will also feature guest spots from Linda Smith, Rose Melberg, Dee Dee from Dum Dum Girls and Honeymoon Diary's Jenny Robbins.

The EP is still in its recording phase, but those who pitch in on Kickstarter will be treated to a unique colour vinyl pressing of the release. There are many other prizes for donations including stickers, badges, tote bags and rare cassettes and CD-Rs.

For more information on the Kickstarter campaign go here. Black Tambourine will play in Washington on April 6 and 7 and in New York over three nights from April 10 to 12.
