By Gregory AdamsLast Sunday (February 5), M.I.A. outraged the family-friendly set when she flipped the bird to millions of football fans who had tuned in to Madonna's halftime show performance at the Super Bowl, and Madge apparently isn't too happy about it. Having caused countless uproars in her 30 years in the game, the Material Girl's now gone on record stating that her co-performer's rude gesture wasn't all that shocking, just immature.
An interview with Ryan Seacrest this morning (February 10) [via Spinner] had Madonna addressing the subject head on, with the vocalist admitting that she "wasn't happy about" M.I.A.'s actions. Her beef with her "Give Me All Your Luvin'" collaborator seemingly stems more from how seemingly useless and empty the gesture seemed to be, with Madonna calling the bird-flip a "teenager, irrelevant thing to do."
Madonna also added, "I wasn't happy about it. I understand it's kind of punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy and positivity, it seemed negative... It seemed out of place."
While Madonna may have seen M.I.A.'s raised middle finger as an annoying bore, that didn't stop others from imposing morals. Earlier this week, NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy lambasted the English artist for her "completely inappropriate" behaviour, and Parents Television Council president Tim Winter issued a statement roasting the star for "bring controversial attention to herself, while effectively telling an audience filled with children, 'F--- you.'"

Its a gesture people, and it wasn't directed to you. Quit being so touchy.

"B---h, you knew I was a snake."

Posted by Ranta On 2012-02-11 21:48:10Yeah, it's hard not to see Madonna's reaction to the finger as anything but jealousy that a single finger stole millions of dollars worth of her thunder.
