Well, this is still the plan, but now with a surprise twist. Word has come that the Swede has a new North American label partner: Anti-, the imprint that's home to such very un-electronic acts as Neko Case, Tom Waits and Xavier Rudd. Yesterday & Today is still coming out on Germany's Kompakt imprint on May 25, but now in the U.S. and Canada it will be a co-release with Anti- on May 19. (Yeah, we didn't see this one coming either.)
Along with the label switch-up, Yesterday & Today now also has a six-song-long tracklisting, some very Field-looking album art and what appears to be a cover of "Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime," the 1980 track by British pop outfit the Korgis. And of course, Battles John Stanier is still lending his furious, drum-beating hands to the record's title track.
There's still no word yet on the Field's promised North Americantour dates, but here are the songs on Yesterday & Today:
1. "I Have The Moon, You Have The Internet" 2. "Everybody's Got to Learn Sometime" 3. "Leave It" 4. "Yesterday & Today" [feat. John Stanier] 5. "The More That I Do" 6. "Sequenced"
