Afrika Bambaataa, Mad Decent, Hudson Mohawke and More Face Off in Red Bull's Culture Clash at Toronto's Manifesto Festival
We've already received word that the Manifesto Festival will be returning to Toronto for its fifth annual celebration of community, culture and hip-hop, running from September 15 to 25. On September 22, the festival will also play host to the Red Bull Music Academy World Tour - Culture Clash, which will pit four DJ crews from around the world against each other in a competition.

Taking place at Toronto's Echo Beach, the show will place the DJ teams on four separate stages with separate sound systems. The participants are: Mad Decent (featuring Dillon Francis, DJ Sega, South Rakkas Crew and Paul Devro), Zulu Nation (featuring DJ Afrika Bambaataa), LuckyMe (featuring Hudson Mohawke, Lunice and Rustie) and Toronto All-Stars (featuring Boi1da, Starting from Scratch, DJ Mensa, Lissa Monet & Lindo P). The event will include special guests and will be hosted by Kardinal Offishall.
The contest is made up of four rounds: the selection round (where the crews will be judged on their music selection), the entertainment round (featuring a special guest on each stage), a genre exploration round (featuring music from a different genre) and the banger round (with what a press release calls the "biggest and baddest tunes to win over the crowd").
Tickets cost $22.50 in advance and $30 at the door. Get yours over at Ticketmaster.
This isn't the first time that Red Bull has pitted artists against one another at separate stages. This year's Calgary Stampede hosted the Red Bull Soundclash, featuring K-os and Dragonette.
