By Josiah HughesLast week, we reported that long-running New York hardcore quartet 108 had broken up following the departure of longtime front-man Robert Fish. The news came at a bad time, with Deathwish Inc. preparing to release their new album 18.61 on April 13. It appears that the announcement came premature, however, as 108 have expressed their intentions to continue without Fish.
Countering Fish's announcement, band issued the following statement on their Facebook page:
108 HAS NOT BROKEN UP. Rasaraja [an alias for Fish] has left the band, but 108 will continue in full force with a new direction and focus. We will be writing, recording and playing shows this year to support 18.61 and create new music.
As of yet, however, the band do not have any shows scheduled, and have not expressed any interest in auditioning a replacement for Fish.
