The Grapes of Wrath Reunite Classic Line-Up for Summer Shows
By Greg PrattAnyone who grew up in Canada in the late 1980s will remember the Grapes of Wrath. Even if you can't name one of the band's songs, you have to admit that the B.C.-based pop folk rock group's name was ubiquitous once upon a time in the Great White North. Well, it looks as if they're getting ready to make another attempt at getting that ubiquity back.

The Grapes of Wrath have reunited and are going to be touring this year, according to their MySpace page. "Looking forward to big things in 2010," a post there says.

Over on their official site, a message says that "after 18 years, the original founding members have reformed and will be performing in the summer of 2010."

Only one date is currently mentioned on either site: July 18 in Surrey, BC, at the Fusion Festival, but more dates are expected to be announced shortly.

The Grapes of Wrath's classic, and reunited, line-up consists of Tom and Chris Hooper and Kevin Kane.

The band originally split in 1992, with Kane parting with the Hoopers, who went on to form Ginger. In 1999, Tom Hooper and Kane got back together and released one disc under the Grapes of Wrath moniker, Field Trip; they broke up again in 2001. The two toured as an acoustic duo last year playing Grapes songs.
