Arcade Fire Webcast to Be Directed by Terry Gilliam
By Alex HudsonWe definitely didn't see this coming. Last week, when Arcade Fire announced that they would be streaming their August 5 concert live via YouTube, rumours circulated that the webcast would be directed by "a well-known, as-yet-unnamed luminary." Now, we know that the director will be none other than Terry Gilliam.

That's right, the former Monty Python funny man who directed Brazil, 12 Monkeys and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is now responsible for filming an Arcade Fire concert, the Associated Press reports. We can only imagine what strange directions he will take this webcast in.

The stream will be the first in series of online concerts called Unstaged, which is sponsored by American Express. There are currently five shows planned over the next year, and next up is a collaboration between John Legend and the Roots. The rest of the series will be announced soon.

Meanwhile, Arcade Fire's The Suburbs is currently tearing up the Internet but, uh, you didn't hear it from us.
