Tindersticks - 'The Something Rain' (album stream)
By Alex HudsonWith a career that spans 20 years, Nottingham, UK's Tindersticks have been one of the world's most dependable sources of down-and-out soul-tinged rock for a couple of decades. The group are keeping this solid output going with their latest full-length offering, The Something Rain. The nine-song collection doesn't officially drop until February 21 via Constellation Records, but you can stream the whole thing right now on Exclaim.ca.

The Something Rain is the latest in a string of recent releases that also includes the 2010 album Falling Down a Mountain and the 2011 box set Claire Denis Film Scores 1996-2009. The band's latest offers more of what we love about Tindersticks: weepy chamber folk instrumentation and mournful baritone crooning from frontman Stuart A. Staples, along with some interesting twists and turns along the way.

Tindersticks have some European tour dates coming up in the next few months, but for now delve into The Something Rain below. If you're suitably impressed, order a copy over here at Constellation's website.
