By Sarah MurphyStaples in the Toronto roots rock scene for a few decades now, Skydiggers are no strangers to the changing seasons in Ontario. So it seems fitting that they've just re-released a new track entitled "November in Ontario."
Originally appearing on 1997's Desmond's Hip City, the group made a trip to the Tragically Hip's Bathouse Studio to record a new version of the track. A press release describes the song as one that "conjures up the ghosts of early winters past and the chilling slow burn of cold haunted memories."
The Skydiggers are currently preparing for their annual Christmas shows at Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern, taking place this year on December 16 and 17. The band are slated to perform their 1996 album Road Radio in its entirety at these shows, so fans won't want to miss out.
If that's not enough, the rootsy collective are currently putting the finishing touches on a brand new album, due out in 2012. It will be the follow-up to 2009's retrospective collection The Truth About Us: A Twenty Year Retrospective.
