By Alex HudsonCanadian-born/UK-based songwriter Rachel Zeffira previously stoked our anticipation for the Canuck release of her debut album, The Deserters, with a shadowy video for "Here On In." She's also filmed a similar clip for the album's title track.
"The Deserters" is a haunting piano ballad composed of moody arpeggios, mournful orchestration and sombre vocals. The accompanying video shows Zeffira singing, spinning, and having her hair blown around by the wind while dramatically illuminated against a plain backdrop.
The Deserters comes out in Canada on March 12 through Paper Bag Records. This single will be available digitally on February 12.
