Ministry - 'Relapse' (album stream)
By Sarah MurphyIndustrial giants Ministry may have been on hiatus for the last few years, but frontman Al Jourgensen has reformed the group for the new album Relapse. The record marks the 13th from the band and will arrive March 26 via 13th Planet Records, but you can stream it now at Exclaim!

According to a recent press release, Jourgensen is "still angry, still political, and very, very pissed off," channelling his rage into 11 new tracks. He's taken inspiration from the recent Occupy movement, and delivers Relapse "as a reluctant prophet accusing, dissecting, cajoling and exhorting greed, corruption and lies."

The frontman previously expressed his feeling towards the Occupy protesters, stating, "We wanted to fly to New York and protest and get arrested and pepper sprayed. But we can't do it because I got a Christmas deadline on this album."

Well, now the album's done, and you can check it out below.

yeesh. been listening to Ministry for a long time, and there's nothing here. lazy lyrics, and the same old thrash they've been doing for the past 3 discs. i liked psalm 69 as much as the next guy, but liked that they branched out from straight thrash on the discs after that.

Personally, as much as I LOVE Ministry... I could totally do without this album. Nothing impressive, nothing innovative, nothing ground-breaking. But Al is still the man and always will be so it's more than forgivable and just because it's not my cup of tea, Ministry fans have a million different tastes because the band is so versatile in their sound and evolution. So I still believe the album is well warranted.

This is just awesome!! The new Ministry album is FANTASTIC!!

I had no real expectations for this release (there is no Bush in the White House, after all.). But this is a solid release after 1 listen. It's what I expect from Ministry and it delivers. Everybody complaining that it doesn't sound like Ministry of 1989-1992 just needs to get over it. This has been Ministry's sound for longer than it hasn't been.
Start Conversation
No matter what, Ministry still sounds like no one else! Keep on creating Al!
Start Conversation
Al! You are Great! Polish fan salute You!

been a fan of ministry for a long time and pleased with the new album. ministry is ministry and never expect the same repetiveness like most bands. always different in each album all the way from with sympathy to relapse. new album rocks! and a s.o.d cover to boot!

more industrial and less metal i still love ministry!!!
Start Conversation
Musically, this album is great. So much better than I was expecting. But man, so many songs have needlessly long, and sometimes annoying, intros.
Start Conversation
I needed this like a Junkie needs another fix! Thanx Al, love you man!
Start Conversation
cant wait to see them at their Los Angeles show.
Start Conversation
Sounds real good. Going out to buy it! Nothing is like having the record in your hands!

3 great songs (doubletap, freefall and relapse) on the new long awaited Ministry-album.
Is that enough?
Some of the songs have compliant melodies. Is that the new Ministry style?
And by the way - I hate guitar soli
Start Conversation
what a ton of shit
Start Conversation
can do without songs 1,5, & 6 - the rest is kickin!!! ministry is still the shit!!!!
Start Conversation
All the songs fucking rock!
Start Conversation
Thanks Uncle Al! Just what MINISTRY fans need and want!! Look forward to seeing you live!!!
Start Conversation
FUCKIN AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"With Sympathy" was an accident at work, "Twitch" was the part of good dark ebm, everything form TLORAH to Animositisomina was awesome, Bush trilogy was good but they sounds like industrial version of Slayer, but this album is total defeat

Ministry should be inducted to the Music Hall of Fame. E'nuff said!

standard Ministry....just fine with me.

To those people out there that thing Double Tap is the only fantastic song on this album and reminds them of classic Ministry: For one, it sounds a lot like Rio Grande Blood, and secondly, while that track is great, I think the best on here is Blood Lust. Overall, a pretty good album. I don't mind 99 Percenters, actually. For me the weakest track is probably Weekend Warrior.

I think Al has pulled a little of his sound from throughout the years. If you really listen, you'll hear bits of Filth Pig, Psalm 69, Rio Grande Blood, and Dark Side of the Spoon.

By the Ovaries of Zeus - best album as a whole since Psalm 69. Heard 99 Percenters will be the first single but reckon that's the weakest track. Can't stop listening to Weekend Warrior!

THX Mate! I've just ordered ticket for Manchester gig. Fan of Ministry and RevCo for 20 years.

ministry adalah band yang gue denger sejak SMA: industrial, metal, kiri-tengah, ada semua dah di uncle al jourgensen! you guys are play so owe'soul'some
Start Conversation
Would never listen to this again. Haven't heard anything good come from this camp since Filth Pig. Static-x Prong rehash bs is noticed.
Generic drum machine programming.. guitars sound like shit...what a waste of time! And this is coming from a FAN!
Start Conversation
Well... At least the music and samples are good. :/
