By Exclaim! StaffWe recenly heard the new album The Hunter from metallers Mastodon. Now, check out their video for album track "Curl of the Burl."
Directed by Robert Schober, the video is based on a concept by Mastodon drummer Brann Dailor, and is spooky, disturbing and ultra-weird all rolled into one clip. Coming off as a lo-fi stoner horror, complete with mysterious insufflables and amorphous shape-shifting, a thrill-seeking trailer resident smokes himself into lumberjack attire only to be reduced to a tree trunk by a trio of hot blondes.
