Jonny Greenwood and Aphex Twin

Live with Krzysztof Penderecki

By Sarah MurphyOver the weekend, some major names in music shared the stage with avant-garde composer Krzysztof Penderecki in Wroclaw, Poland. Both Aphex Twin and Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood performed reworked renditions of Penderecki classics, but also debuted original compositions.

Greenwood premiered "48 Responses to Polymorphia," while Aphex Twin shared "Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima" and "Polymorphia Reloaded" with the audience.

Interestingly enough, Aphex Twin has been quoted on his disliking of Radiohead, previously stating, "I wouldn't play with them since I don't like them." Looks as if he made an exception this weekend.

Watch the videos below for Greenwood and Aphex Twin's Penderecki-inspired compositions.

Radiohead and Johnny Greenwood are not the same thing. I bet Aphex Twin dug the There Will Be Blood score a hell of a lot more than In Rainbows.
